Get to Know our Brucie Baby.
To keep track of Bruce's milestones and remember the little things he does as he grows we are keeping a few "journals". I decided I wanted an official Baby Book though so I have gone through our different "journals" and compiled my notes. Bruce is turning 5 Months on Jan. 19 so here are the first four months to get you all caught up! (I still need to get our photos in order so you will just have to take my grainy instagram pictures)

Our Family is Growing - The Details.
I wanted to post this back in January and I thought I had but I realized today that I didn't so here is our little story about finding out we were pregnant and telling our families about it!
We are pretty excited about our latest edition arriving in August and we thought we would share our story, so far, with you guys!
On the tenth of December I was already 4 days late which was unusual so we decided to go out to dinner in Idaho Falls to the Olive Garden because I was craving lasagne but I didn't feel like making it. So we went to dinner and then we stopped at the Walmart there to pick up a pregnancy test and went through the self-checkout. We didn't want to go the Walmart in Rexburg because we were afraid we might run into someone we knew! The package came with two tests and I messed up the first one... People say those things are idiot proof but it sure alluded me.
I could not even handle the whole "peeing" on a stick so we cut off the top (sorry if this is TMI) of a milk carton and stuck it in the toilet. We decided to wait until the morning to take the second test, your hormone levels are higher. So on the morning of the 11th we woke up and I went to the bathroom (in the milk carton that was sitting in the toilet) then Kennedy came and dipped the stick ( again too complicated for me I guess). After a minute of waiting we found out we were going to be parents!
We decided that we wanted to surprise our parents by telling the over Christmas, they did not disappoint. We gave them a frame with this picture (below) inside of it. We were surprised by how shocked they were, but that made telling them even more fun!
We videoed telling our families and their reactions were priceless! Here are a few stills from those videos. I'm glad we will have these forever!

Pink or Blue?
We are having a little boy! We are so excited! We went to get a gender check ultrasound yesterday. I was pretty sure that it was a girl and Kennedy was pretty sure it was a boy. Neither of us had our hearts set on which gender we wanted but my gut feeling was girl. When the technician said it looks like a boy... I was thought "are you sure?" After a minute it was pretty clear it was indeed a little boy haha. It took a few minutes for me to change my thought process. In my head as I was planning everything I was thinking girl so I had to switch to the boy track. Not that it was disappointing! It was so exciting to finally know, now we can stop calling the baby it! 'It' seemed a little insulting.
After our appointment we headed out to Idaho Falls and hit up some baby stores... We held back, hoping we would soon be gifted many cute things but we couldn't resist picking up a few.
This little elephant tee was our favorite! We cannot wait to see our little guy in it.

Week 17: Humming Along
This week I finished the tops for our Girls quilt and our Boys quilt. We still don't know what we are having yet so we wanted to be prepared! THIS DOES NOT MEAN WE ARE HAVING TWINS. Haha, don't mistake the two quilts for two babies! So if anyone out there is wanting to buy us baby things for the nursery these are the colors we are going with. So take note :)
Update on Me and Baby B
- This week Baby B can now hear music! They say when you listen to music when the baby is in the womb the baby will be able to recognize the music after it's born. So our baby will be very familiar with Coldplay and Death Cab for Cutie.
- Baby B also mastered the art of yawning this week and hiccuping.
- I have been craving mexican food like crazy... because of that we have discovered a few new restaurants in Idaho Falls. Thank you UrbanSpoon.com.
- I have started to invest in a few pieces of maternity clothes. Someone tipped me off about the maternity section at Ross!! That was an awesome discovery. I finally found some great leggings that won't be hot in the summer but they are still solid enough that they aren't see-through.
- Luckily I have gotten my appetite back... not in the way that I am eating more but more things are appealing to me again. I'm still eating A LOT and ALL the time but now I can stomach most things.
- So Kennedy doesn't feel neglected he is training for a marathon and we are very proud of all the hard work he is putting into that goal. He is very diligent!
Well that's all for now! See you next week!

Sweet 16.
Well I managed to last 16 weeks without a baby bump but this week is popped out despite my efforts. I suppose it was inevitable. It is very cool and weird to have physical evidence of a baby hanging out on my tummy. My jeans definitely don't fit anymore {thank goodness for hair elastics} and I am realizing I might have to invest in a few pieces of maternity wear! I guess it's an excuse to go shopping.
A few little facts about me and Baby B
- Baby B is currently the size of a Turnip
- Baby started to hear this week so it will come out loving Coldplay... or hating it haha.
- I have been craving fish sticks and french fries.... like crazy. Hello lunch time!
- I can finally eat Oatmeal again without gagging
- AND I can take my prenatal vitamins again without throwing up afterwards. Hallelujah!
- The other night while I was saying my prayers I think I felt a little kick... Now I've never felt a baby kick before so I'm not sure if that's what it really was but I felt a 'pop' and it was definitely a feeling I have never felt before. According to everything I've read I could feel the baby move already so that was kind of cool.
- I am finally able to go to sleep at a reasonable hour again and I am waking up before noon, thank goodness! I am still sleeping 9 hours a night but it's no longer from 3-12 {that was a pretty gross period of time}
Well that's all we got for now. See you next week!

Happy Halloween!
Well this year we really celebrated Halloween! We planned our costume in advance, made spooky and cute costumes, watched a scary movie and went to a Halloween Party!
This year we were Mary Poppins and Burt! I loved our costumes and not to be lame but this will probably be our go-to costumes for a few more years to come. We spent a total of $7 on our costume! We bought Kennedy's vest, hat and broom at D.I. and bought some red ribbon at the Dollar Giant. Everything else we had in our closets! It was so easy and we got lots of compliments on them!
We went to our ward party which was a lot of fun, I loaded up on Milk Duds and Reese's Pieces and we watched some brave people play some scary games! They did Halloween Fear Factor and those poor people ate some nasty things. Some Smurfs bobbed for apples and we got to meet the Joker and Cat Woman. It was a true Halloween Party!
So last night Kennedy convinced me to watch Psycho, I am not a scary movie person but I have seen a few Hitchcock films and I like him so I agreed. The deal was he had to make me awesome popcorn and stay up as late as I wanted afterwards to watch something happy. So we ended our Halloween night at 2 a.m. watching Whose Line is it Anyways! But I actually did like Pyscho, I won't ruin the ending for anyone if you haven't seen it but luckily my 23 years of avoiding Pyscho gave me the advantage of knowing the ending which made some parts not as scary and some parts a lot scarier. Also Kennedy was kind enough to tell me which characters were going to die so I did not get attached to them. What a guy :)
This year I saw some chevron pumpkins that Martha Stewart did so I was determined to do the same, luckily I had some old paints that I could use so I didn't have to make a special trip. The big pumpkin turned out a lot better than the small one. One the small pumpkin the paint basically was on the brim of peeling off! But I think over all they turned out cute. I really want to make my other little pumpkin a glittered pumpkin but alas we had no glitter so Kennedy suggested polka dots and it ended up being my favorite pumpkin!
As you can see Kennedy did the spooky pumpkin, I think he turned out very scary!
Here's the process of making my Chevron pumpkin, it had to dry over night.
Here's how my little ones turned out!
