Hello everyone! Time for another update. It's been almost 6 weeks since my last post so it's time to write down the highlights and maybe some lowlights of the past few weeks.
Another visit to Canada:
Since finals are always so crazy we decided to come up to Canada over the fourth of July long weekend to visit and Kennedy would leave me and Bruce their to visit with family while he focused on finals. We had fun at Halle's first birthday party. She was such a cute and happy birthday girl! We spent a day in Coutts and Kennedy made brown bread with his Dad and it was soooo delicious. After Kennedy left Bruce started teething 2 teeth… he wasn't very happy about it and then right after they cut through he got Roseola… now if you have never experienced a baby with Roseola count yourself lucky. I basically didn't sleep for more than 2 hours for 72+ hours. Bruce had a high fever that wouldn't go away and he was miserable. It was rough. So that was disappointing that it ate so much up of our time in Canada. I was exhausted and Bruce was cranky so we didn't get to as much as I had hoped. We did still have some fun. I got to go out to lunch with Kayla since I'm missing her wedding (sad). I got to visit with Erin H twice and that was so much fun. I got to see some of my family and Kennedy's. I also got to have some New Dynasty :) Yummy!
Greencard:
Two days after Bruce and I returned from Canada we headed to Boise for Kennedy's interview. Things were going great until we said Kennedy crossed the border July 3rd… it all went downhill from there. Apparently he wasn't supposed to cross yet and so we had to withdraw his application and we have to refile it and pay the $1070 fee! We were SO mad! I mean unbelievably angry. Fortunately it didn't effect his working visa (I'm not sure why though) so he legal to work now as of July 15. So we drove all the way to Boise and back for basically nothing. It sucked especially because we are strapped for money and gas ain't cheap! But we did get to stay with Cam and Lexie so it was fun to catch up with them. All in all though it was a pretty crappy trip.
Kennedy Graduated:
Hooray! Kennedy is a University Graduate! The speakers were wonderful, the commencement speaker was the Young Woman's President and she was quite funny. I love when speakers have a sense of humor. She did a great job. Bruce did wonderful even though it went waaaaay past his bedtime. My Mom and Becca came and Kennedy's parents, Aunt Patti, Jordy and Ali were all there to celebrate with us. It was a great night in the middle of crappy week.
Our 4th Anniversary:
Kennedy graduated on our anniversary so that kind of stole our 4 year thunder haha, but that's okay. Because Kennedy's parents were in town Kennedy's Mom came and baby sat Bruce in the morning and we went to the 8:30 session at the Rexburg temple. It was the first time since Bruce was born that we were able to go together so it was such a treat that it was on our anniversary that we got to do that. The Rexburg temple has always held a special place in my heart because I helped and volunteered at the open house. Kennedy and I walked through it a couple time together before he left on his mission. I wished we were able to be married there but the location was slightly inconvenient for ALL of our family so that didn't really work out. Not to mention the whole immigration aspect… anyways. After the temple we went and bought 4 glazed doughnuts. Kennedy said we should buy doughnuts for our years together every year… we'll see about that!
StitchaBee Designs:
I was able to be part of a giveaway in July on IG with 7 other shops and it was a really great experience. I've had a few orders since from strangers so that's exciting. Things are going well!
Bruce:
Bruce currently has 6 teeth and FINALLY learned to crawl! I might be the only Mom ever to be relieved that my baby can crawl. Life is actually so much easier now haha. He hated that he wasn't mobile so everyone's a lot more happy.
We are trying to sleep train Bruce right now and it's miserable. I hate sleep training and I wish he would just enjoy sleeping like his Dad.
Maple Valley:
We are currently living in Maple Valley while we wait for Kennedy to find a job. Our friends David and Kristy were kind enough to open up their (pretty big) home to us and let us stay with them while we figure things out. They have a puppy so that has been interesting with Bruce but it's improving each day.
We love Washington and even though a lot of things are unsure we feel very sure that this is where we are supposed to be. We love it here and can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for us! … hopefully a sleeping baby soon!
